6.1F

The lowest bid price was submitted by C.F. Archibald Paving, Inc. However, the City Page 2
can not accept their Bid Proposal because a siQned acknowledgement for Addendum
No. 1 was not attached with the bid submittal. The Addendum states that the bidder
shall acknowledge receipt of the Addendum by signing the acknowledgement, and
attaching it to the Bid Proposal, and that any bidder failing to do so shall be disqualified.
For this reason, the lowest bid is not considered a responsive bid.

The seCbno loW bia of $503,369.84 suomitted by O'Grady Paving, Inc. is 1% higher
than the Engineer's Estimate of $500,000. Based on the bids received, staff believes
that the second low bid of $503,369.84 is reasonable and responsive, and recommends
awarding the contrad to O'Grady Paving, Inc. of Mountain View, CA.

ALTERNATIVES
Council may choose not to award the contract which would delay much needed
improvements. Continued deterioration of the roadway surface will result in higher
repair costs.

FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for the proposed agreement are available from the Capital Improvement
Program, Gas Tax Construction Fund.

uo*-

Peter Delgado
Associate Engineer

Peter Ingram, Director
Community Developmen Director

Chu Chang, P .E., Man er
Englnee'2?fUcIlon ,1,1 _

)~~.

Ed Eve&
City Manager

ATTACHMENTS
None

ReLATED DOCUMENTS IN CITY CLERK'S OFFICE
1.
