<br />6.1C <br /> <br />The low bid of $1,641,785 submitted by Granite Rock Company DBA Pavex Page 2 <br />Construction Division is 3.4 % lower than the Engineer's Estimate of $1,700,000. <br />Based on the bids received, staff believes that the low bid of $1,641,785 is reasonable <br />and responsive, and recommends awarding the contract to Granite Rock Company <br />DBA Pavex Construction Division. Staff recommends award of contract to include an <br />additional $50,000 for a monofilament turf (Bid Alternate No.1) which is a longer <br />wearing product and will extend the useful life of the installation. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Council may choose not to award the contract which would delay implementation of <br />water conservation measures. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />As of May 31, 2007, $2,581,031 is available for this project in the Water Bond Projects <br />Fund/Recycled Water System Development.
