The <br />new description would need to be adopted prior to the hiring of the City Manager. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />MIS Foust/Aguirre to approve by resolution revisions to the City Manager Job <br />Description. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 14797 APPROVING JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THE POSITION OF CITY <br />MANAGER <br /> <br />The motion passed by a unanimous roll call vote. <br /> <br />B. City Clerk Recruitment Process <br /> <br />Council Member Hartnett, Personnel Subcommittee Chair, stated that the City will <br />be recruiting for a City Clerk in the near future and that the options of retaining an <br />outside firm or utilizing the HR Department staff are available. After discussing both <br />options and obtaining information from HR Director Bell regarding the department's <br />capability of handling the function and the budget implications of either option, it is <br />the belief of the Personnel Committee that the HR Department is qualified to <br />conduct the search to achieve the same level of results expected of an outside <br />agency and do so at a substantially less cost. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />MIS HowardlBain to approve by motion a recommendation by the Personnel <br />Committee to have the City's Human Resources Department conduct a <br />recruitment process for a new City Clerk. <br /> <br />The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote. <br /> <br />MINUTE ORDER 07-140 <br /> <br />7. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST (continued)- <br /> <br />D. Council Member Aguirre - stated that she attended a Bay Area Water Forum <br />meeting earlier in the day and that she is pleased to say that the Forum will be <br />visiting the Redwood City recycled water project on September 24. Experts from. <br />different water agencies throughout the Bay Area will be on a special field trip to <br />visit the new plant. The Forum has asked for study of SBA 12 and is seeking <br />support from local government regarding the property related fees. <br /> <br />E. Council Member Howard - on Friday evening, July 20, the Redwood City <br />library hosted a Harry Potter party that was attended by hundreds of youth and <br />families.
