The existing <br /> zoning is professionaf office for the hospital and the medicaf office buildings. R-1 <br /> {residential single family to the north}, R-1-1p is to the South of Whipple, 10,000 sq f# <br /> minirnum lot area for residential. The change to the existing zoning is "P" (Planned <br /> Community C}istrict zoning} for the entire area. <br /> Along Alameda De Las Pulgas the existing redwood trees will be maintained. There will <br /> be a 125 foot setback on Whipple Avenue in order to create a new landscape open <br /> space for the campus. <br /> The major entrance to the hospital is being proposed to change from Alameda to <br /> Whipple; by doing so it allows the building entrances io be oriented towards the public <br /> street to make it visible for first time visitors. Empioyee parking entrances will be aff of <br /> Alameda, there wilf be one way access off of Whipple for emergency vehicles and two <br /> way access aff of Alameda. There is also a proposed new bus stop. <br /> Sfreetscape capita� irrtprovements: new street trees wiif be created along Whipple <br /> Avenue. Afameda and at entrance of#Alameda. <br /> Chair Seybert stated th�t the ramp system will allow strolfers or wheelchairs to make it to <br /> the entrance. <br /> PUBLiC HEARCNG <br /> Diane 5exton, �edwood City resident, stated ihat ihe speed limit listed an lNhipple <br /> Avenue is 3Q MPH and needs to be looked into. Regarding the traffic, the hospital <br /> needs to consider how the canstruction trucks are using the access roads and the <br /> tonnage af dirt and concrete. She suggested the fresways should be used rather than <br /> Whippfe Avenue. She stated that she has not received any letters regarding this <br /> meeting (notification). <br /> Stephen Sexton, Radwood City resiclent, s#ated that the traffic on Whipple Avenue gets <br /> worse every year, there ar� also inadequate places to cross �n foo# ard no stop signs <br /> on the street. <br /> Page 5 of 17 <br />
