<br />08/28/2007 <br /> <br />Mitigation Impact 810-1.1: Removal of large redwood or oak trees and other <br />vegetation, as part of the proposed development, may be scheduled between October <br />and December (inclusive) to avoid the raptor nesting season and no additional surveys <br />would be required. <br /> <br />Mitigation Impact 810-1.2: If removal of large trees would take place between <br />January and September, a pre-construction survey for nesting raptors shall be <br />conducted by a qualified ornithologist to identify active nesting raptor or other bird nests <br />that may be disturbed during project implementation. Between January and April <br />(inclusive) pre-construction surveys shall be conducted no more than 14 days prior to <br />the initiation of construction activities or tree relocation or removal. Between May and <br />August (inclusive), pre-construction surveys shall be conducted no more than thirty (30) <br />days prior to the initiation of these activities. The surveying ornithologist shall inspect all <br />trees in and immediately adjacent to the construction area for nests. If an active raptor <br />nest is found in or close enough to the construction area to be disturbed by these <br />activities, the ornithologist shall, in consultation with the State of California, Department <br />of Fish & Game (CDFG), designate a construction-free buffer zone (typically 250 feet) <br />around the nest until the end of the nesting activity. <br /> <br />The applicant shall submit a report indicating the result of the survey and any <br />designated buffer zones to the satisfaction of the Department of Community <br />Development Services prior to the issuance of a grading or building permit. <br /> <br />Finding: The City Council of the City of Redwood City adopts Mitigation <br />Measures BI0-1.1 and BI0-1.2 as feasible measures, and finds that their <br />implementation would reduce biological resource impacts of the project to a less-than- <br />significant level. <br /> <br />F. HYDROLOGY AND WATER QUALITY IMPACTS <br /> <br />Potential Impact HIWQ-1: Construction activities on the project site, including <br />building and pavement removal and earthmoving, could result in adverse impacts to the <br />water quality of Redwood and Cordilleras Creeks, and ultimately, San Francisco Bay. <br /> <br />Standard Condition 4.7-1: Stormwater discharge will be analyzed during the <br />final design phase and the design will follow all approved procedures in the STOPPP <br />Hydromodification Management Plan (HMP).
