(BFI) to provide landfill disposal site service to the Public Works Services Department (PWS)
for disposal of the department's construction debris, primarily from water and sewer repair projects.
Initially, this debris is temporarily stockpiled at the PWS corporation yard before final transport and
disposal at the landfill, Ox Mountain Sanitary Landfill. Due to the type and volume of waste generated
from water and sewer repairs, this process is separate from Recology's regular solid waste collection for
the City. For instance, debris from sewer line repairs is classified as special waste, and Ox Mountain is the
only large landfill in the San Francisco Peninsula that accepts this type of waste. BFI's service is essential
to ensuring that the debris generated during the course of regular operations is disposed properly.
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
102
