Serve as a conduit for community input and to consider these requests and provide <br />recommendations to staff. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Redwood City's Strategic Plan has seven initiatives to help the City accomplish its mission of "Building a <br />Great Community Together." One such initiative is Transportation which has the goal to "develop and <br />support effective transportation infrastructure: systems and programs that enable safe and efficient <br />travel to, from and within the community." In addition to being one of the seven strategic initiatives, the <br />City Council also identified transportation as one of its top three priorities for 2019. In the annual State of <br />the City address, the City Council discussed key local and regional initiatives to ease congestion and <br />increase safety. <br />To further the City's progress on local and regional transportation projects that increase mobility options <br />and safety, the TAC identified the following priorities for their work plan: <br />1. Committee charter— recommend creation of a Transportation Advisory Committee to replace the <br />Complete Streets Advisory Committee' <br />2. Outreach and educational efforts to support Redwood City School District school consolidation — <br />help Redwood City 2020 to identify new bike routes to schools; lead group rides with parents and <br />students; and help with outreach to PTAs <br />3. Liaison assignments to regional committees and working groups — identify committee liaisons for <br />regional projects and working groups such as Dumbarton Transportation project, Caltrain <br />Business Plan, Ferry Feasibility Study, C/CAG Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, Safe <br />Routes to School Task force, Metropolitan Transportation Commission, San Mateo County <br />Transportation Authority, etc. <br />4. Peninsula Bikeway — help with community outreach for the upcoming Peninsula Bikeway <br />Alignment Alternatives Study <br />5. Explore feasibility of an east -west bike boulevard — work with staff and help with community <br />outreach to explore and plan for an east -west bike boulevard from Downtown to Alameda de las <br />Pulgas, crossing EI Camino Real and connecting to Red Morton Park and neighborhood schools <br />6. Monitoring and reporting toward Vision Zero goal —take action on the RWCMoves goal to develop <br />a monitoring system toward Vision Zero <br />7.
