Each PDD yields the right-of-way to all pedestrians, bicyclists, and <br />vehicles approaching on a roadway upon entering a crosswalk to the <br />extent necessary to safely cross the roadway, except when crossing <br />pursuant to a crosswalk pedestrian signal. <br />vii. Each PDD has a system that alerts Permittee if a technology failure, <br />loss of communication occurs, or other circumstance occurs, and <br />when such alert is given, that (a) requires Permittee to assume direct <br />control of the PDD; and (b) if Permittee is unable to assume control <br />of the device, causes the PDD to safely come to a stop where it is <br />not obstructing the Right of Way, other public space or property, or <br />private property. <br />viii. In the case of a technology failure or other circumstances that causes <br />the PDD to come to a stop in a location other than property owned <br />or leased by Permittee, Permittee shall remove the PDD within <br />twelve (12) hours. <br />ix. Each PDD obeys all traffic and pedestrian control signals and signs. <br />x. Adequate visibility of each PDD during daytime and nighttime hours. <br />xi. No PDDs, equipment, or other material shall be stored in the Right <br />of Way or other public space. No PDDs, equipment, or other material <br />shall be stored on public or private property, without the applicable <br />property owner's written permission. <br />xii. PDDs operated during darkness shall have reflectors at least in front <br />and back with two hundred (200) foot visibility, and lights that cover <br />the direction of movement including white lights in front and red lights <br />in the back that are visible up to three hundred (300) feet away. <br />xiii. Each PDD will include a plate or marker that may be easily read by <br />pedestrians near the PDD that identifies the Permittee's website URL <br />and contact information. Lettering shall have a font size that is a <br />minimum of one (1) inch tall. <br />xiv.
