6.1. - Page 1 of 5 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />A,&/ <br />DATE: May 20, 2019 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Adoption of a Resolution Identifying the Fiscal Year (FY) 2019-20 Pavement Management Program in <br />Accordance with the Streets and Highway Code for Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA) <br />Funds Generated as a Result of Senate Bill 1 (S131), the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Adopt a resolution identifying the FY 2019-20 pavement management program in accordance with the <br />Streets and Highways Code for RMRA Funds. <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Transportation <br />BACKGROUND <br />On April 28, 2017, California adopted Senate Bill 1 (S131), also known as the "Road Repair and <br />Accountability Act of 2017". A portion of funds generated from this Act can be used for municipal road <br />and street maintenance through the related "Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account" (RMRA). In <br />order for cities to receive these funds, cities must adopt a resolution identifying proposed projects by May <br />1, 2019. The resolution in Attachment A identifies the proposed project for the City's Pavement <br />Management Program. "Projects" in the Program are specific street segments that will receive pavement <br />repairs and maintenance. The City is required to report the project lists to the California Transportation <br />Commission. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The City is projected to receive approximately $ 1.4 million of RMRA funds for Fiscal Year 2019-2020. Staff <br />has developed the 2019-2020 Pavement Management Program to receive RMRA funds and will <br />recommended allocating those funds in the FY 2019-2020 Capital Improvement Program in June.
