6.1. - Page 2 of 5
The Roadway Pavement Management Program inventories, assesses and tracks maintenance of the City's
roadways and completes repairs and replacements. The City uses the Metropolitan Transportation
Commission's StreetSaver program, feedback from Public Works Services staff, maintenance history,
comments and complaints from the public, and field surveys to evaluate pavement conditions. The
following roadways were selected based on an assessment of overall pavement conditions to make the
most efficient use of City resources:
• Alameda de las Pulgas
• Marine Parkway
• Vera Avenue
Work on these streets will include crack sealing, spot repairs, installation of a micro surfacing emulsion
and restoration of pavement striping and markings. The project is out to bid and the award of a
construction contract will be brought to Council in June 2019. Work on these projects would begin shortly
thereafter. Details of the scheduling, noticing, and other project -specific information will be provided in
the staff report for the construction contract.
FISCAL IMPACT
The City is projected to receive approximately $1.4 million through the RMRA for FY 2019-2020. These
funds would supplement the City's current funding sources for road maintenance and rehabilitation.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA
Guidelines, section 15378, because the administrative activities will not result in direct or indirect physical
changes in the environment.
PUBLIC NOTICE
Public Notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72
hours prior to the meeting.
ALTERNATIVES
The City Council could elect not to adopt the resolution. However, the City would be unable to receive
any funding through the RMRA for road maintenance and rehabilitation.
ATTACHMENTS
Attachment A: Resolution
REPORT PREPARED BY:
Jessica Manzi, Transportation Manager
jmanzi@redwoodcity.org
(650) 780-7372
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
326
