By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement between the City of <br />Redwood City acting as fiscal agent for Redwood City 2020 and Redwood City School District to receive <br />$307,500 for Pipeline of Success and Socios for Success projects; and <br />2. By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement between the City of <br />Redwood City acting as fiscal agent for Redwood City 2020 and Community In Schools in the amount of <br />$150,000 to support the Pipeline of Success project <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Community for All Ages <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City of Redwood City acts as the fiscal agent for Redwood City 2020, a community collaborative <br />comprised of eight partners, including the City of Redwood City, Redwood City Elementary School District, <br />Sequoia Union High School District, County of San Mateo (Health System and Human Services Agency), <br />Sequoia Healthcare District, The Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior University — Stanford <br />University, Kaiser Permanente, and Canada College. <br />Earlier this fiscal year, Redwood City 2020 (RWC2020) and the Redwood City School District (RCSD) jointly <br />developed a proposal to the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI), which included funding for Redwood City <br />2020's Pipeline of Success and Socios for Success projects. CZI approved the proposal and entered into an <br />agreement and delivered funding to RCSD with the understanding that 1) RWC2020 would be a <br />subcontractor to RCSD; and 2) Communities In Schools (CIS), a nationally recognized community <br />consultant, would be a subcontractor to Redwood City 2020 to help implement a Theory of Change and <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore <br />8 <br />
