6.A. - Page 2 of 21 <br />Integrated Student Supports model. Redwood City 2020 now wishes to culminate agreements with RCSD <br />and CIS to meet the deliverables of the CZI grant. The value of each of these contracts require the approval <br />of the City Council as the City of Redwood City is the fiscal agent for Redwood City 2020. <br />Redwood City 2020 requests an approval of a contract with the Redwood City School District to receive <br />$307,500 and meet the following deliverables: <br />• Undertake capacity building, professional development, and provide services to enable successful <br />cross -sector collaboration and facilitate collective impact for community school staff and partners <br />• Engage a community consultant from a nationally recognized organization to implement a Theory <br />of Change methodology for planning, participation and evaluation that moves seamlessly at every <br />level of work <br />• Join a nationally recognized cradle to career network of professionals working to improve <br />outcomes for kids by bringing together cross -sector partners around a shared community vision <br />• Perform data analysis focused on capturing impact of RCSD community schools and the RWC2020 <br />Pipeline of Success, and increase partners' capacity to use data for learning, improvement, and <br />alignment <br />• Expand and maximize high quality family engagement to improve student's academic <br />achievement <br />Redwood City 2020 is proposing to subcontract part of the funds received from RCSD/CZI with <br />Communities In Schools (CIS) to bring their national model for community schools to schools in Redwood <br />City and North Fair Oaks in order to deepen and expand their impact. In return for $150,000 in funding, <br />CIS will work with Redwood City 2020 and StriveTogether to lay a strong foundation to achieve <br />community, school, and student -level success. There are three phases that CIS will implement the Plan <br />for Success phase, Starting Strong phase, Closing the School Year & Plan for Next Year phase and Capacity <br />Building. Their main focus will be to ensure that Redwood City 2020 members have a strong introduction <br />to the Community In Schools Model of Integrated Student Supports. In addition, CIS will develop a <br />StriveTogether Planning retreat, Community Summit, and Partner Implementation Plan. CIS will <br />collaborate with stakeholders to implement the CIS Model through the Community Schools initiative of <br />the Redwood City School District, Sequoia Union High School District and Canada College. <br />ANALYSIS <br />Both agreements support Redwood City 2020's Cradle to Career Pipeline of Success and Socios for Success <br />projects. The Pipeline of Success project supports children, youth, and families from cradle to career and <br />seeks to ensure continuity of holistic services, data linking and information sharing, transition supports, <br />streamlined referral systems, academic alignment, and staff and partner collaboration throughout the <br />developmental continuum. The Socios for Success project provides the foundation, capacity, and action <br />required to move the needle on what matters most to students, families, communities, and schools <br />through family engagement.
