6.H. - Page 1 of 20 <br />/<�ik <br />Redwood <br />CitylCallifornia <br />Faunded 1867 <br />Ago/ <br />DATE: June 10, 2019 <br />SUBJECT <br />STAFF REPORT <br />To the Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From the City Manager <br />Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement for Groundwater Monitoring and Remediation <br />Design Services at Sequoia Station Shopping Center with Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />By motion, approve and authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Professional <br />Services Agreement with Groundwater and Environmental Services, Inc. in an amount not to exceed <br />$94,275, for an aggregate amount not to exceed $247,925 for management and coordination of quarterly <br />groundwater monitoring events and remediation design services at Sequoia Station Shopping Center. <br />STRATEGIC INITIATIVE <br />Government Operations <br />BACKGROUND <br />During the development of Sequoia Station Shopping Center in the mid-1990s, soil and groundwater <br />investigations identified the presence of chlorinated solvents in the groundwater beneath the property. <br />Since July 2014, the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) has provided <br />direction to the Public Works Services Department (PWS) on how to monitor and remedy the groundwater <br />contamination. <br />To meet the RWQCB's cleanup requirements, on January 22, 2018, the City Council awarded a contract to <br />Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc.
