_ _,JES:djk 08/05/96 (Reso-061)
G/Redwood City/Shared/Council

3. This Council further declares that the City of Redwood City is willing
to proceed with the steps necessary to become a cedified option for ALS
provision and, ultimately, to participate in the Countywide delivery of ALS
service subject to the following conditions:

a. Such participation shall not result in any degradation of fire or EMS
services to residents currently served by the City of Redwood City;

b. No additional cost to the users of ALS/ambulance services shall be
incurred as a result of participation by the fire services in the ALS
program;

c. Such participation shall not result in any additional General Fund
expenditures to the City of Redwood City to maintain the current level
of fire or proposed EMS services to its residents.

4. This Council further declares and finds that in passing this
resolution, several subsequent actions will be required to fulfill the statement of
intention described herein, that this resolution is not binding, but that non-
participation in future actions implementing the intent expressed herein could
result in the inability of the cities/fire agencies to develop ALS capability within
San Mateo County.

3
