I <br /> <br /> --,JES:djk 08/05/96 (Reso-061) <br /> G/Redwood City/Shared/Council <br /> <br />city/fire service provider in San Mateo County has been requested to pass a <br />resolution of intention to determine whether an effort to develop countywide fire <br />service ALS capability should proceed; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE; <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. This Council hereby confirms the intention of the City of Redwood <br />City to participate in the development of fire service/advanced life support <br />capability. <br /> <br /> 2. This Council hereby declares that in making the aforesaid <br />statement of intent, this Council recognizes that, to function effectively and <br />competitively to attain ALS capabilities, cities and fire agencies will be required to <br />commit to the following: <br /> <br /> a. Provide necessary training for fire personnel to develop adequate ALS <br /> <br /> skills and abilities; <br /> <br /> b. Agree collectively to provide paramedic services through ALS engine <br /> companies in a coordinated countywide emergency response ALS <br /> system; <br /> <br /> c. Agree to consolidate fire/EMS dispatch functions into a single, <br /> <br /> countywide prehospital emergency care system facility; and <br /> <br /> d. Agree to expand automatic aid agreements, boundary "drops" and <br /> equipment move-up procedures for fire and ALS response within the <br /> County. <br /> <br /> 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
