6.L.- Page 2of7 <br />The criteria for evaluating applications included: <br />• Applicants must be based in Redwood City or requesting funds for a performance in Redwood <br />City. <br />• Applicants requesting funds must be a non-profit organization and demonstrate financial stability. <br />• Funding requested must represent no more than 20% of an applicant's total annual budget. <br />• A complete and accurate application detailing the proposed project along with attainable <br />goals, objectives, time frames, and a self-evaluation procedure must have been submitted <br />by established due dates. <br />• All grant applications were to be completed and presented to the Commission by an official <br />representative of the requesting organization. <br />• The applicant must have obtained permission for the use and coordinate the time, date, and <br />specific requirements for the event with the facility owners prior to applying for Commission <br />funding. <br />The Commission's recommendations for funding are contained in Attachment 1 of this report with a <br />brief description of the purpose of each grant request. The Commission hereby requests that its <br />proposed grant recommendations be approved and authorized by City Council. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The Arts Commission large grants are funded by the City's General Fund. The total amount of proposed <br />funding agreements for large grants for FY 2019-20 is $40,000. The City Council has approved a total of <br />$58,896 for Arts Commission activities for FY 2019-20. Therefore, no additional appropriation is required. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />This activity is not a project under California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) as defined in CEQA <br />Guidelines, section 15378, because it has no potential for resulting in either a direct or reasonably <br />foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Public Notification was achieved by posting the agenda, with the agenda items being listed, at least 72 <br />hours prior to the meeting. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />The Council could choose to modify the funding recommendations made by the Arts Commission. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Attachment A: Large Grant Recommendations <br />City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore <br />114 <br />
