6.L.- Page 7of7 <br />Sequoia Art Group. Sequoia Art Group is a large group of local artists who are interested in art <br />education and promotion in the community. They also hold an annual Spring Art Show and have <br />requested funding for their 57th annual art show to be held in May 2020. The art show is open to <br />adult entries and student entries (grades 6-12) and prizes are awarded to the winners. This grant <br />will help cover operating costs for their 2020 show. <br />Funding Requested: $1,600 Funding Recommended: $1,000. <br />The Northern California Bluegrass Society. This group is planning to hold their multi -day <br />Bluegrass Festival in downtown in January 2020. It will feature music performances and a film <br />festival featuring bluegrass music documentaries. This grant request is to help with production <br />costs for the festival. <br />Funding Requested: $2,000 Funding Recommended: $1,400. <br />ZiRu Dance. This non-profit dance company mission is to create a platform for excellent artistic <br />collaboration across cultural boundaries. ZiRu Dance prioritizes helping young adults of color and/or <br />recent immigrants grapple with assimilation and cultural identity through the art of dance. The <br />Silicon Valley Dance Festival is a family friendly series of performances that is coming to Redwood <br />City this year to showcase a vibrant cross -sample of contemporary dance. Funding would go <br />towards free performances and lessons on the courthouse square, "meet and greet" events with <br />dance artists at the Dragon Theater, and a children's matinee at the Fox Theater. <br />Funding Requested: $10,000 Funding Recommended: $2,000 <br />Page 4 <br />119 <br />
