ORIGINAL <br />MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT <br />JOHN W. GARDNER CENTER FOR YOUTH AND THEIR COMMUNITIES AT <br />STANFORD UNIVERSITY (STANFORD UNIVERSITY) <br />and THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY SERVING AS FISCAL AGENT FOR <br />REDWOOD CITY 2020 <br />FY 2018-19 <br />This is a MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT, made and entered in this c�6 day of <br />�� 2019, by and between JOHN W. GARDNER CENTER FOR YOUTH AND <br />THEIR/ COMM UNITIES AT STANFORD UNIVERSITY (STANFORD UNIVERSITY) ("Gardner <br />Center") and THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a charter city and municipal corporation of the <br />State of California ("City") serving as fiscal agent for REDWOOD CITY 2020 (RC 2020), a <br />COMMUNITY COLLABORATIVE that coordinates the delivery of services to children, youth and <br />families living in the City of Redwood City and North Fair Oaks, an unincorporated area adjacent <br />to Redwood City. <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, in 1995 the City of Redwood City, the Redwood City Elementary School <br />District, the Sequoia High School District and the County of San Mateo formed Redwood City <br />2020 (then known as Redwood City 2000) to provide leadership and oversight necessary to <br />develop a coordinated approach to strengthen academic and social outcomes for children and <br />youth living within the attendance area of the Redwood City School District and provide valuable <br />resources to families so they can be successful primary caregivers to their children, and; <br />WHEREAS, each year, since the formation of Redwood City 2020, these original <br />partners (the City, Redwood City School District, Sequoia High School District and County of <br />San Mateo) have renewed the Redwood City 2020 partnership by formal agreement, and; <br />WHEREAS, the public partners who formed Redwood City 2020 have now been joined <br />by additional partners (Canada College, John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their <br />Communities at Stanford University (Stanford University), Kaiser Permanente, and Sequoia <br />Healthcare District) and; <br />WHEREAS, all of these Parties desire to renew their Redwood City 2020 membership <br />agreement for Fiscal Year 2018-19. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THE MUTUAL COVENANTS AND <br />CONDITIONS CONTAINED HEREIN, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Purpose. The Parties are entering into this formal partnership for the sole <br />purpose of providing assistance to and sustaining the work of Redwood City 2020. Redwood <br />City 2020 exists for two major purposes: <br />a. To provide a forum wherein representatives of partner entities can work <br />together and with members of the private sector, business and the community at large to <br />improve the quality of life in Redwood City for children, youth, and families. <br />b. To provide oversight and support to ongoing collaborative efforts and <br />initiatives that are working toward Redwood City 2020's agreed upon outcomes (e.g., <br />Cradle to Career Pipeline of Success, Community Schools, the Sequoia Teen Resource <br />Page 1 of 8 <br />REV: 05-22-19 RL <br />ATTY/AGR,2019.090/Gardner Center_RC2020 Membership 2018-19 <br />
