WHEREAS, on January 22, 2018, the City approved the Neighborhood Street <br />Enhancement Program Implementation Plan, which establishes priority projects within the <br />neighborhoods of North Fair Oaks, Redwood Village, and Friendly Acres. A link to the Plan is <br />set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated by reference; and <br />WHEREAS, on February 22, 2018, the Neighborhood Street Enhancement Program <br />Implementation Plan was presented to the North Fair Oaks Community Council and received <br />positive feedback; and <br />WHEREAS, the design of the new rectangular rapid flash beacon (RRFB) requires <br />regrading the crosswalk at Bay Road and 10`h Avenue in order to comply with American with <br />Disability Act (ADA) requirements; and <br />WHEREAS, regrading the crosswalk will significantly increase the construction cost of <br />the project, and the County has agreed to provide $20,000 to the City to offset these costs; and <br />WHEREAS, the City and County agree that the City shall act as the lead agency in the <br />design, preparation of plans, specifications, construction administration, construction, and <br />construction inspection for the priority projects identified in the Neighborhood Street <br />Enhancement Program Implementation Plan which are located within unincorporated San Mateo <br />County; and <br />WHEREAS, the County desires to review, request modifications to, and approve all <br />design plans and to inspect construction for improvements located within unincorporated San <br />Mateo County prior to final acceptance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED AS FOLLOWS: <br />The City shall act as the lead agency in the design and preparation of plans, <br />specifications, construction administration, construction, and construction inspection for projects <br />AM/DOCS-AGR/2019.160/COUNTY OF SAN MATEO — NSEP AGREEM ENT <br />REV: 06-12-19 PR <br />Page 2 of 7 <br />
