❑ Coordinate with the Public Works Branch on immediate post -event issues (i.e., debris removal, <br />demolition, fences, etc.) <br />❑ Consider establishing an area field site to direct and coordinate safety assessment and inspection <br />teams <br />❑ Request volunteer Structural Engineers to assist in the inspection of structures. Provide personnel <br />to act as guides for the engineers <br />❑ Provide, as required, damage assessment teams to survey potential shelter sites after the <br />emergency. Provide structural evaluation of mass care and shelter facilities reports to the Care <br />and Shelter Unit in the Logistics Section <br />❑ Provide as required, damage assessment teams to inspect and mark hazardous structures and <br />record damage. City damage records are utilized by state and federal agencies as a basis for <br />federal assistance money <br />❑ Coordinate with utilities, Red Cross and the County on damage assessment <br />❑ Coordinate with all departments for possible information on damage to structures <br />❑ Coordinate with the following groups for field information and Damage Assessment reports: <br />• Amateur Radio <br />• CALTRANS <br />• School District <br />• PG&E <br />• Media Sources <br />❑ After completion of the safety/damage survey, develop a preliminary estimate of the need for <br />mutual aid assistance <br />❑ Implement procedures for posting of building occupancy safety status using ATC -20 placard <br />guidelines <br />❑ Implement a data tracking system to document and report safety assessment information and <br />forward to the Damage Assessment Unit of the Planning/Intelligence Section <br />❑ Assess the need to require potentially unsafe structures to be vacated <br />❑ Provide public school inspection reports to the State Architect <br />J Collect, record and total the type and estimated value of damage <br />J Prepare the initial damage estimate for the city <br />❑ Be prepared to start over due to aftershocks if the hazard was an earthquake <br />Shift Change: <br />❑ Provide turnover briefing to position replacement <br />❑ Provide details regarding ongoing activities and planned activities to be accomplished during the <br />upcoming operational period <br />• FORM: POSITION JOB AID <br />C-62 <br />
