❑ Coordinate with the Operational Area Care and Shelter Unit, the ARC, other volunteer <br />organizations and private sector if mass feeding or other support is required at spontaneous <br />shelter sites, e.g. in parks, schools, etc. <br />❑ Coordinate with the Communications Unit of the EOC Logistic Sections to provide <br />communications where needed to link mass care facilities, the EOC and other key facilities <br />❑ Coordinate with the Transportation Unit for the transportation of evacuated people to the <br />shelter/s <br />❑ Ensure shelter managers make periodic activity reports to the EOC including requests for delivery <br />of equipment and supplies, any City expenditures, damages, casualties and numbers and types of <br />persons sheltered. The reporting period will be determined by the Operations Section <br />❑ Coordinate with animal care agencies for evacuation of and potential shelters for animals per the <br />Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards Act (PETS). Support required animal control <br />measures as necessary <br />❑ Coordinate the evacuation and relocation or shelter -in-place of any mass care facilities, which may <br />be threatened by any hazardous condition <br />❑ Coordinate with the ARC in relocating and closing of shelter operations. Coordinate with adjacent <br />communities if needed <br />❑ In coordination with the ARC, activate an inquiry registry service to reunite families and respond <br />to inquiries from relatives or friends <br />❑ Assist the ARC with the transition from operating shelters for displaced persons to separate <br />family/individual housing <br />❑ Complete and maintain the Care and Shelter Status Report Form <br />• REPORT: MASS CARE STATUS <br />❑ Refer all contacts with the media to the Public Information Officer <br />Shift Change: <br />Provide turnover briefing to position replacement <br />❑ Provide details regarding ongoing activities and planned activities to be accomplished during the <br />upcoming operational period <br />• POSITION JOB AID <br />• FORM: CURRENT ICS -214 <br />❑ Provide all completed documentation to the Documentation Unit <br />Follow EOC check out procedures, including signing out, work station clean-up and forwarding <br />phone number where you can be reached. <br />• FORM: ICS -211 <br />• FORM: ICS -205 <br />C-149 <br />
