❑ Identify the need for evacuation routes and deploy Police Department resources to provide traffic <br />control as needed. Be aware that US 101 over Redwood Creek is within the tsunami hazard zone. <br />❑ Issue notifications, including evacuation orders as needed, to the public through appropriate <br />channels. <br />❑ Issue door-to-door evacuation orders as needed. Be prepared to assist persons who are unable <br />to self -evacuate. <br />❑ Deploy Police Department resources to close off the evacuated area and provide security. Be <br />aware that when tsunami warnings are issued, some members of the public will attempt to get <br />as close as possible to the affected area so as to observe the event. <br />❑ Remove any key City resources, include marine craft, from the risk zone. <br />Initial Operational Objectives <br />• Use the EOP information collection plan to assess the incident. <br />• Determine any areas that require evacuation. <br />• Finalize and promulgate evacuation routes and shelter locations as needed. <br />• If water or wastewater service is lost, restore service as safe and feasible to do so. Coordinate <br />with PG&E and other utility provides to restore any other services that are experiencing outages. <br />• Use NIXLE and SMC Alert to provide evacuation notification and orders. <br />• Deploy Police Department resources to conduct community evacuation notification. <br />• Deploy Police Department resources to conduct evacuations if necessary, and to provide security <br />and crowd control for evacuated areas. <br />• Request mutual aid as required. <br />Administration and Logistics <br />Standard emergency administration and supply procedures will be used.
