❑ If the Bulletin states the threat is not yet known, continue to monitor the situation until the alert <br />is upgraded or a follow-up Bulletin declares there is no threat. <br />Condition 3: A Tsunami Watch has been issued for Redwood City. The EOC is operating at Level I <br />(Information Level). <br />❑ Monitor the situation until the alert is upgraded or canceled. <br />❑ Inform key staff of the situation and that they may be mobilized. <br />Issue notifications to the public through appropriate channels. <br />Condition 2: A Tsunami Advisory has been issued for Redwood City. The EOC is operating at Level II (Alert <br />Level). <br />❑ Monitor the situation until the alert is canceled. <br />❑ Mobilize any staff as needed and inform other staff that mobilization may occur. <br />❑ Identify the need for any emergency shelters and notify facility owners. <br />❑ If the tsunami is set to affect Redwood City in less than four hours, deploy resources to evacuate <br />docks and shorelines. Be prepared to assist those who cannot self -evacuate. <br />❑ If the tsunami is set to affect Redwood City in four hours or more, consult the Tsunami Emergency <br />Response Playbook (available at <br />ftp:Hftp.consry.ca.gov/pub/dmg/pubs/sr/sr_236/CGS_Special_Report_236.pdf) from Cal OES <br />and the California Geological Survey) and take steps as directed to confirm the potential area at <br />risk. <br />❑ Identify the need for evacuation routes and deploy Police Department resources to provide traffic <br />control as needed. Be aware that US 101 over Redwood Creek is within the tsunami hazard zone. <br />❑ Issue notifications, including evacuation orders as needed, to the public through appropriate <br />channels. <br />❑ Remove any key City resources, include marine craft, from the risk zone. <br />Condition 1: A Tsunami Warning has been issued for Redwood City. The EOC is operating at Level III <br />(Response Level). <br />❑ Monitor the situation until the alert is canceled. <br />❑ If there are less than four hours before the tsunami arrives, evacuate the entirety of the tsunami <br />risk zone, as identified by Cal OES. <br />❑ Consider activation of an alternate EOC due to the location of the Police Department building <br />❑ If there are four hours or more before the tsunami arrives, consult the Tsunami Emergency <br />Response Playbook (available at <br />ftp://ftp.consry.ca.gov/pub/dmg/pubs/sr/sr_236/CGS_Special_Report_236.pdf) from Cal OES <br />and the California Geological Survey) and take steps as directed to confirm and evacuate the <br />potential area at risk. <br />❑ Identify the need for any emergency shelters and notify facility owners.
