Condition 2: A fire in Redwood City's WUI is threatening structures, or a fire in Redwood City's WUI is not <br />threatening any structures but conditions may be suitable for it to grow or spread, or a fire has broken out <br />in the WUI of an adjacent community and conditions may be suitable for it to spread for it to spread into <br />Redwood City's WUI. The EOC is operating at Level II (Alert Level) <br />❑ Deploy Fire Department resources to contain and extinguish the fire. If the fire is not within <br />Redwood City, coordinate with the lead jurisdiction on the best approach to provide aid. <br />❑ Inform off-duty Fire Department staff that they may be mobilized. Alert other relevant personnel <br />of potential emergency duties. <br />❑ Continue to monitor the NWS for information on watches, warnings and alerts online at <br />https://www.weather.gov/forecastmaps and through other sources as necessary. <br />❑ Continue public information activities through appropriate channels. <br />❑ Issue evacuation orders for affected areas and deploy Police Department resources to make door- <br />to-door notifications, provide traffic control, and provide security for evacuated areas. City <br />resources will be needed to assist individuals who cannot self -evacuate. <br />❑ Develop detours and emergency routing plans and be prepared to implement these plans. <br />❑ Determine potential shelter locations and alert facility owners. <br />Condition 1: There is an active fire in or adjacent to Redwood City's WUI. The fire is actively growing and <br />spreading, or conditions allowing such growth are expected or imminent. The EOC is operating at Level III <br />(Respond Level). <br />❑ Mobilize and deploy all available Fire Department resources to contain and extinguish the fire. <br />If the fire is not within Redwood City, coordinate with the lead jurisdiction on the best <br />approach to provide aid. <br />❑ Continue to monitor the NWS for information on watches, warnings and alerts online at <br />https://www.weather.gov/forecastmaps and through other sources as necessary. <br />❑ Issue evacuation orders for affected areas and deploy Police Department resources to make <br />door-to-door notifications, provide traffic control, and provide security for evacuated areas. <br />City resources will be needed to assist individuals who cannot self -evacuate. <br />❑ Mobilize other staff as necessary for EOC operations. <br />❑ Prepare for 24-hour operations of emergency response activities. <br />❑ Prepare to handle emergency transportation requests. <br />❑ Mobilize emergency response crews. <br />❑ Conduct public warning notifications through appropriate channels. <br />❑ Continue to determine potential shelter locations and to alert facility owners. <br />Initial Operational Objectives <br />• Initiate efforts to contain and extinguish the fire, or at minimum to control its spread, as situations <br />allow. <br />• Determine any areas that require evacuation and deploy Police Department resources to conduct <br />community evacuation notification. <br />• Finalize and promulgate evacuation routes and shelter locations as needed. <br />0 <br />
