Detailed damage assessments of City facilities must be completed <br />by: <br />• Community Development <br />• Harbormaster <br />• Parks and Recreation <br />• Police Department <br />• Public Works for water treatment plant and water distribution systems, sewers, storm drains, <br />streets, sidewalks, streetlights, street trees and buildings <br />Additional damage assessments must be collected from other organizations including: <br />• Caltrans <br />• Cellular service providers such as AT&T, Verizon and others <br />• Pacific Gas and Electric <br />• Unified School District <br />• Chamber of Commerce <br />• Local hospitals and medical clinics <br />• Long term care and skilled nursing facilities <br />• Churches and other NGOs <br />Damage Assessments should include the following information at a minimum: <br />• Location such as street address or description of location (1200 feet of 12" watermain located <br />under Veterans Boulevard from Whipple Avenue to Alden Street) <br />• Potential hazards <br />• Detailed description of facility (number of buildings, dimensions, size, use, contents, occupancy) <br />• Detailed description of damage by construction systems (foundations, walls, roofing, HVAC, <br />electrical, plumbing, IT, fixtures, pavement and parking) <br />• Estimated cost associated with damage <br />• Insurance coverage and limits <br />Not all the information may be available initially and acquiring it may require professional engineering <br />services. Cal OES operates the Statewide Safety Assessment Program (SAP) for post -earthquake damage <br />assessments. The SAP provides certified engineers and scientists to support jurisdictions after a disaster. <br />More information is available at: <br />http://www.caloes.ca.gov/RecoverySite/Documents/SAP%20Guidelines.pdf <br />The ROC Planning Section is responsible for compiling damage assessments and providing information <br />and displays to the LDRM to support resource requests and prioritization. Damage assessment <br />information should also be provided to Cal OES and FEMA to support their preliminary damage <br />assessments (PDA) for Stafford Act assistance programs such as Individual and Public Assistance. <br />H-3 <br />
