They coordinate fire, hazardous material and search <br />and rescue mutual aid activities. <br />Fire Operations Unit <br />The Fire Operations Unit Leader assists Incident Commanders in the field by providing coordination for <br />mutual aid requests to and from the Operational Area Fire/Rescue Mutual Aid Coordinator, as appropriate. <br />They respond to requests for fire resources from the field in a timely manner, following established <br />priorities (life safety, protection of the environment, and protection of property). They also monitor and <br />track fire resources utilized during the event and provides general support to field personnel. <br />Search and Rescue Unit <br />The Search and Rescue Unit determines the scope of the search and rescue mission and assists in <br />mobilizing Search and Rescue Teams at the request of City DOCS or Field Incident Commanders. They <br />provide search and rescue support as required to other emergency response agencies consistent with <br />established priorities and objectives. They also ensure deployed teams are provided with adequate <br />support. <br />Hazmat Unit <br />The Hazmat Unit determines the scope of hazardous materials incidents throughout the City in <br />coordination with the San Mateo County HAZMAT Team. They assist in mobilizing hazardous materials <br />teams at the request of City DOCs or Field Incident Commanders. They request assistance from and/or <br />provide support as required to Operational Area Emergency Response Agencies consistent with <br />established priorities and objectives. <br />Law Enforcement Branch <br />The Law Enforcement Branch reports to the OSC. They are responsible to alert and notify the public of the <br />pending or existing emergency and activate all public warning systems. They coordinate movement and <br />evacuation operations, law enforcement, and traffic control operations and provide for security at incident <br />facilities. The Law Enforcement Branch coordinates incoming law enforcement mutual aid resources. They <br />assume responsibility as necessary for fatalities management if the County Coroner is delayed in <br />responding. <br />Law Enforcement Operations Unit <br />The Law Enforcement Operations Unit coordinates City requests for Law Enforcement Mutual Aid <br />Resources through the Operational Area Law Enforcement Mutual Aid Coordinator. They establish and <br />maintain communication with Incident Commanders in the field or at DOCS. They respond to requests for <br />Law Enforcement resources from the field in a timely manner following established priorities (life safety, <br />protection of the environment, and protection of property). They monitor and track law enforcement <br />resources utilized during the event and provide general support to field personnel as required. <br />57 <br />
