o Other injunctive relief to help ensure the health, safety or <br />welfare of themselves or their children. <br />o To seek medical attention for injuries caused by domestic <br />violence, sexual assault, or stalking. <br />o To obtain services from a domestic violence shelter, program, <br />or rape crisis center as a result of domestic violence, sexual <br />assault, or stalking. <br />o To obtain psychological counseling related to an experience <br />of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking. <br />o To participate in safety planning and take other actions to <br />increase safety from future domestic violence, sexual assault, <br />or stalking, including temporary or permanent relocation. <br />If an employee's use of sick leave results in an absence from work <br />of three (3) or more consecutive work days or duty shifts, a doctor's <br />certificate or other reasonable proof of illness may be required by <br />the Department. <br />If a supervisor believes there is an abuse of sick leave, the supervisor <br />may require the employee to provide medical verification for all <br />future sick leave absences for a period of ninety (90) days, upon <br />written notification by the supervisor to the employee. <br />Abuse of sick leave by an employee will subject the employee to <br />disciplinary action. <br />When an employee returns to work after any absence chargeable to <br />sick leave due to his/her own condition, the City may require a <br />statement from the attending doctor that the employee is in fit <br />physical condition to perform all the duties of his/her position. In <br />addition, the employee may be required to undergo a medical <br />examination at the City's expense to be performed by a doctor <br />designated by the City, before the employee is permitted to return <br />to work. <br />18.1.3 Charge for Sick Leave <br />Except as provided in section 18.1.1 (for shift employees temporarily <br />assigned to a 40 -hour work week), charge for sick leave used shall <br />be on the basis of one (1) hour for each hour used; provided, <br />however, that sick leave shall be charged for only those hours when <br />the employee was absent from work. <br />18.1.4 Sick Leave in Excess of Accrual Cap <br />In the event an employee has accumulated the maximum sick leave <br />credits of the one thousand nine hundred twenty (1,920) hours for <br />shift employees, and nine hundred sixty (960) hours for 40 -hour <br />35 <br />
