6.N. - Page 5 of 5 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY AUTHORIZING THE CONVERSION OF STOP <br />SIGN TO YIELD SIGN ON HOPKINS AVENUE, WEST OF DUANE <br />AVENUE, AND THE INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGN ON HOPKINS <br />AVENUE, EAST OF DUANE STREET <br />WHEREAS, Section 213.05, of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, <br />states the use of Yield or Stop signs should be considered at the intersection of two minor <br />streets or local roads where the intersection has more than three approaches and the <br />ability to see conflicting traffic on an approach is not sufficient to allow a road user to stop <br />or yield in compliance with the normal right-of-way rule if such stopping or yielding is <br />necessary; and <br />WHEREAS, City staff's investigation has confirmed the existence of this condition <br />at the subject site. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 20.34 of the Redwood City Code, the <br />City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to cause: <br />a. the existing Stop sign to be replaced with a Yield sign and maintained <br />on Hopkins Avenue, west of Duane Street, for westbound traffic; <br />b. a Stop sign to be installed and maintained on Hopkins Avenue, east <br />of Duane Street, for westbound traffic. <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />ATTY/RESO.0077/CC RESO HOPKINS AVE.—DUANE AVE.
