A key element of the DTPP is to create "a network of great public open spaces." Following the City
Council's discussion at the Study Session, staff conducted a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to select a
firm to conduct a Downtown Parks Site Assessment and Feasibility Study. SERA Design and Architecture,
Inc. was selected to complete the study.
The purpose of the study was to conduct site assessment and feasibility of converting existing City -owned
land and its adjacent right-of-way into parks, and to provide recommendations for park development and
potential green urban recreation corridors that connect the City's existing and future public open spaces.
Of the six City -owned downtown properties to be studied, on September 24, 2018, the City Council
approved moving forward with the selection of three of those parcels for a network of Downtown parks
and connectivity to the Bayfront: Roselli Garden/Library Lot A; City Hall/Main Street Lot; and
Bradford/Redwood Creek.
City of Redwood City 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City, CA. 94063 Tel: 650-780-7000 www.redwoodcity.ore
210
