<br />The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote by those present with Vice <br />Mayor Foust absent. <br /> <br />MINUTE ORDER 07-177 <br /> <br />B. Redwood City Public Art Program <br /> <br />Civic Cultural Commissioner Newblanc explained the recommendations from the <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Council Members asked various questions pertaining to cost, process, and funding <br />approach. Council Members also stated that funding should be a part of the annual <br />budget and requested that Chico's policy be studied. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br />M/S Howard/Ira to approve by motion the recommendations from the Civic Cultural <br />Commission (Commission) to establish a Redwood City Public Art Program <br />(Program) and authorize the Commission to develop guidelines to implement the <br />Program. The motion passed by a unanimous voice vote by those present with <br />Vice Mayor Foust absent. MINUTE ORDER 07-178 <br /> <br />8. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST (continued) <br /> <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub-section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus Bulletin No. 35-2007. Council may direct staff to act on positions <br />taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus available in <br />City Clerk's Department). <br /> <br />C. City Council Member Report of Conference/Meeting Attendance <br /> <br />D. Council Member Aguirre - announced that the Olive Festival at Canada College <br />will be on October 7 from 10 am to 5 pm. She stated that this morning she was <br />invited/appointed to the Land Use Subcommittee of the Bay Area Water Forum <br />(BAWF). <br /> <br />Mayor Pierce congratulated Council Member Aguirre. She stated that this group <br />used to be the CALFed Water Task Force. She stated that the Bay Area Water <br />Forum is bringing a regional perspective to water issues and trying to help Northern <br />California catch up with Southern California. She stated that Southern California's <br />water agencies really work very closely together so that they can compete very <br />favorably for grants and the Bay Area Water Forum is working to help Northern <br />California to achieve cohesion. <br /> <br />E.
