01/10/2011 <br /> 7.18 VEBA <br /> Effective upon contract ratification and Council approval of an agreement, or as <br /> soon after as is administratively possible, the City of Redwood City will offer a <br /> Voluntary Employee Benefit Association (VEBA) plan, through a provider to be <br /> determined by mutual agreement of both parties, to all members of the IAFF <br /> bargaining group. Upon separation from City of Redwood City service, <br /> employees may designate unused vacation, compensatory time, and /or sick <br /> leave payoffs to be deposited into his /her VEBA account subject to any <br /> applicable legal limitations. <br /> SECTION 8 - HOLIDAYS <br /> 8.1 Paid Holidays <br /> The following shall be paid holidays to all employees who are covered by this <br /> MOU: <br /> 1. New Year's Day <br /> 2. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (observed on the third Monday in January) <br /> 3. Washington's Birthday (Observed on the third Monday in February) <br /> 4. Memorial Day (Observed on the last Monday in May) <br /> 5. Independence Day <br /> 6. Labor Day (Observed on the first Monday in September) <br /> 7. Veterans Day (Observed November 11) <br /> 8. Thanksgiving Day <br /> 9. The Day after Thanksgiving <br /> 10. Christmas Day <br /> 11. Two administrative holidays, and such other days as may be proclaimed <br /> local holidays. <br /> 8.2 Saturday and Sunday Holidays <br /> When any of the above holidays falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be <br /> considered the holiday. When any of the above holidays falls on Sunday, the <br /> following Monday shall be considered the holiday. <br /> 8.3 Work on a Holiday <br /> Any employee who is required to work on any of the holidays specified in <br /> Section 8.1 above shall, in addition to regular pay for such holiday, be paid one <br /> and one -half (1 -1/2) times his /her established rate of pay for all hours actually <br /> worked on such holiday. <br /> 20 <br /> Page 26 #15077 <br /> MUFF # 905 <br />
