CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDANT (Continuec� <br /> Materials, equipment, procedures, and practices used in the design, <br /> construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of a municipal water <br /> distribution system, sanitary sewer collection system, and storm drainage <br /> system. <br /> The methods and techniques of potable water treatment and distribution, <br /> and of the plant and equipment used in such work. <br /> The methods and techniques of waste water disposal and treatment and of <br /> the plant and equipment used in such work. <br /> The proper methods of maintaining related hydraulic and electrical <br /> equipment. <br /> The methods and techniques associated with NPDES (National Pollution <br /> Discharge Elimination System) regulations and the treatment of storm water <br /> runoff. <br /> Sewer line maintenance, equipment, methods, and materials. <br /> The trades and crafts utilized in utility and street construction and <br /> maintenance work. <br /> License or Certificate: <br /> Requirement to obtain California Department of Public Health's Water <br /> Distribution Operator Grade 4 Certificate. Certification must be obtained <br /> within eighteen (18) months of employment with the City. <br /> Experience and Traininq Guidelines: <br /> Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required <br /> knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the <br /> knowledge and abilities would be: <br /> Experience: <br /> Five years of increasingly responsible management experience in <br /> positions in public works, utility operations and maintenance, or <br /> related field. <br /> Traininq: <br /> Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or <br /> university with major course work in public or business <br /> administration, management, or a related field. <br /> Effective Date: March, 2013 <br /> Bargaining Group: Redwood City Management Employees' Association <br /> Status: Exempt <br /> Page 9 of 30 RESO. # 15252 <br /> MUFF#903 <br />
