CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDANT (Continuea� <br /> Basic organization and administration of municipal urban forest programs <br /> and maintenance programs, such as landscaping, horticultural, and <br /> arboricultural practices. <br /> Techniques, materials, and equipment used in roadway maintenance <br /> systems, general street construction, maintenance, repair work, and safety <br /> practices. <br /> Abili to: <br /> Develop a comprehensive right-of-way maintenance program. <br /> Perform professional arboricultural work and provide technical advice to <br /> street tree contractual maintenance crews. <br /> Oversee the survey and inspection of City streets to determine planting <br /> requirements and selection of trees. <br /> Coordinate work of the section with related City departments, private <br /> contractors, and other public agencies. <br /> Settle other routine complaints from property owners. <br /> Experience and Traininq Guidelines: <br /> Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required <br /> knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the <br /> knowledge and abilities would be: <br /> Experience: <br /> Four years of increasingly responsible management experience in <br /> positions in public works, parks, or right-of-way maintenance <br /> organizations. <br /> Traininq: <br /> Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or <br /> university with major course work in public or business <br /> administration, or a related field. <br /> Utilities <br /> Knowledqe of: <br /> Principles and practices of public works administration as applied to the <br /> construction and maintenance of public works utilities and facilities; <br /> technical inspection services, plan review, and customer service/education <br /> program. <br /> Page 8 of 10 RESO. # 15252 <br /> MUFF#903 <br />
