04/22/2013 <br /> 2.2 Meeting Emissions Targets <br /> The measures described in this Climate Action Plan, combined with statewide legislation and <br /> initiatives, will enable the City of Redwood City to meet its emissions reduction target of 15 <br /> percent below 2005 levels by 2020. <br /> The table below shows the contribution of the three major statewide emissions reduction <br /> initiatives combined with the proposed CAP measures.3 Based on the inventory and forecast, <br /> the City of Redwood City needs to achieve 206,627 MTCOZe of emissions reductions to meet its <br /> 2020 goal. This section details how <br /> the City can organize to put this Plan into action. <br /> 3 AB 1493 (Pavley) refers to the Assembly Bill that directs the Air Resources Board to adopt standards that will achieve "the <br /> maximum feasible and cost-effective reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles," taking into account <br /> environmental, social, technological, and economic factors. LCFS refers to the State of California's Low Carbon Fuel Standard, <br /> which mandates a 10 percent overall reduction in the carbon intensity of transportation fuels by 2020.
