RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY (1) APPROVING, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE, THE AMENDED AND RESTATED AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITIES OF REDWOOD CITY AND SAN CARLOS FOR FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE AN ANNUAL UPDATED EXHIBIT C TO THE AMENDED AND RESTATED AGREEMENT, AND (2) APPROVING, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE, THE AGREEMENT FOR TRANSFER OF FIRE SERVICES PERSONNEL FROM THE CITY OF SAN CARLOS TO CITY OF REDWOOD CITY

06/24/2013 <br /> The six, above-listed employees hereby waive any right to Redwood City retiree <br /> health benefits provided for service and disability retirement (industrial or non- <br /> industrial). <br /> 2.6.2 ELIGIBILITY FOR REDWOOD CITY RETIREE HEALTH BENEFITS <br /> All other San Carlos employees hired by Redwood City in connection with the <br /> "Amended and Restated Agreement between Cities of Redwood City and San Carlos <br /> for Fire & Emergency Services'; will, upon hire by Redwood City, be eligible for <br /> Redwood City's retiree health benefit in accordance with applicable policies, <br /> procedures, and labor agreements, which may be subsequently revised. Redwood <br /> City will not count employment with San Carlos or any other employer towards <br /> calculation of service to determine retiree health benefit eligibility. Such employees <br /> will relinquish any right to City of San Carlos' longevity incentive program. <br /> Nothing in the Agreement(s) between the parties will create a vested benefit <br /> provided by Redwood City or preclude Redwood City from negotiating changes to the <br /> current retiree health benefits provided by the MOU between Redwood City and the <br /> International Association of Firefighters Local 2400("IAFF"). <br /> 2.7 VACATION ACCRUAL RATE <br /> Redwood City will recognize time in the fire service with any recognized California Fire <br /> Department for the purpose of determining applicable levels of vacation accrual under the <br /> Redwood City vacation accrual schedule. <br /> 2.8 TRANSFER OF ACCRUED VACATION HOURS <br /> Effective on the Transfer Date, Redwood City will credit each San Carlos employee hired by <br /> Redwood City in connection with the "Amended and Restated Agreement between Cities of <br /> Redwood City and San Carlos for Fire& Emergency Services"for accrued, unused San Carlos <br /> vacation time.San Carlos will reimburse Redwood City for all transferred vacation time at San <br /> Carlos applicable rate.The number of hours credited by Redwood City will be the total dollar <br /> amount reimbursed by San Carlos divided by the Redwood City hourly rate of pay used for <br /> vacation purposes. <br /> Within thirty (30) days prior to the Transfer Date, San Carlos will calculate and inform <br /> Redwood City of the value of vacation hours accrued to be transferred for each employee. <br /> No later than ten (10) days prior to the Transfer Date, Redwood City will determine the full <br /> amount of all leave time transferred from San Carlos to Redwood City in connection with this <br /> Agreement and will notify San Carlos in writing of the amount to be reimbursed. <br /> 2.9 SICK LEAVE HOURS <br /> San Carlos Firefighters and Fire Captains hired by Redwood City in July 2013 will be provided <br /> up to two hundred (200) hours of sick leave, provided that such sick leave is not eligible for <br /> annual sick leave cash out under Redwood City's policies and labor agreements, nor is such <br /> sick leave eligible for sick leave cash out for the first twelve (12) months of employment.The <br /> RESO.#15272 <br /> MUFF#304 <br />
