11/17/2014 ORIGINAL RESOLUTION NO. 15380 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ADOPTING A CITY CAR SHARE PROGRAM WHEREAS, concurrently herewith, the City Council of Redwood City adopted an ordinance allowing for public parking spaces to be reserved for the exclusive use of car sharing vehicles. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The following is hereby adopted as the City of Redwood City Car Share Program: 1. The purpose, goals and objectives of the Redwood City Car Share Program include supporting City mobility and sustainability and increasing access to City businesses and services while reducing single-occupancy vehicle trips. 2. The Redwood City Car Share Program shall be administered and enforced by the City Manager and his or her designee. Whenever this Resolution provides authorization or direction to the City Manager, the City Manager's designee shall have the same authorization and direction, as specified by the City Manager. 3. Definitions: A "Car Share Organization" or "CSO" is a public, private, or non-profit entity that provides preapproved members access to a nefinrork of at least ten (10) motor vehicles in the Counties of San Francisco, San Mateo, and/or Santa Clara. A "Car Share Vehicle" is a motor vehicle for which a Car Share Vehicle Parking Permit is issued by the City that authorizes that specific vehicle to park in a designated Car Share Parking Space. 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed as follows: A. To establish and designate by signage, Car Share Parking only spaces for Car Share Vehicles on any street or right of way within the City and/or also within any off-street parking facility owned or operated by the City.
