11/17/2014 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 15380 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY ADOPTING A CITY CAR SHARE PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS, concurrently herewith, the City Council of Redwood City adopted an <br /> ordinance allowing for public parking spaces to be reserved for the exclusive use of car <br /> sharing vehicles. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. The following is hereby adopted as the City of Redwood City Car <br /> Share Program: <br /> 1. The purpose, goals and objectives of the Redwood City Car Share <br /> Program include supporting City mobility and sustainability and increasing access to <br /> City businesses and services while reducing single-occupancy vehicle trips. <br /> 2. The Redwood City Car Share Program shall be administered and <br /> enforced by the City Manager and his or her designee. Whenever this Resolution <br /> provides authorization or direction to the City Manager, the City Manager's designee <br /> shall have the same authorization and direction, as specified by the City Manager. <br /> 3. Definitions: <br /> A "Car Share Organization" or "CSO" is a public, private, or non-profit entity that <br /> provides preapproved members access to a nefinrork of at least ten (10) motor vehicles <br /> in the Counties of San Francisco, San Mateo, and/or Santa Clara. <br /> A "Car Share Vehicle" is a motor vehicle for which a Car Share Vehicle Parking Permit <br /> is issued by the City that authorizes that specific vehicle to park in a designated Car <br /> Share Parking Space. <br /> 4. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed as follows: <br /> A. To establish and designate by signage, Car Share Parking only spaces <br /> for Car Share Vehicles on any street or right of way within the City <br /> and/or also within any off-street parking facility owned or operated by <br /> the City.
