07/25/2016
ATTY/RESO.0070/CC RESO DENYING APPEALS & APPROVING PERMIT FOR 603 JEFFERSON RESO. NO. 15515
REV: 07-15-16 VR MUFF NO. 603
continental-style high visibility crosswalks at each of the four corners of the
Jefferson/Bradford intersection. The bulb-outs shall be uniform in size, and
provide for directional curb ramps across each street. The project shall revise
existing storm drain infrastructure and/or add new storm drain infrastructure as
needed to allow for the installation of the bulb-outs. The slopes of sidewalks,
streets, and gutters shall meet with City Standard Design Criteria. [COA]
[ENGINEERING]
45. Reconstruction of Frontage Streets - The City has identified the need for street
reconstruction along Jefferson Avenue and Bradford Street for the full width
fronting the project site, including the intersection. The pavement sections for
each street shall be based on vehicle classification counts. Alternatively,
conservative TI values may be provided by the City Engineer. In no case will the
pavement section be allowed to be less than the City Standard minimum
pavement section. [SDR][ENGINEERING]
46. Jefferson Avenue Lane Reconfiguration – The project shall revise the
pavement striping on Jefferson Avenue between Marshall and Bradford streets to
match the lane configuration currently in place on Jefferson south of Marshall
Street. This shall include installation of a Class 3 bike route between Bradford
and Marshall Streets. The signage and striping plans shall be submitted for
approval by the City Engineer. [COA] [ENGINEERING]
47. Repair or Replace Street Infrastructure - Restore streets surrounding the
project site to the satisfaction of the City Engineer at project completion. The
Engineer shall approve the preferred layout of pavement and curb markings and
the type and location of parking meters. Parking stalls shall not inhibit required
sight distance from project driveways or require vehicles to back up across a
crosswalk to exit a parking stall. [SDR][ENGINEERING]

48. Parking Garage Ramps - Parking garage ramps shall meet the Design Criteria
of the Engineering Standards and consider safety and visibility of pedestrians to
the satisfaction of the City Engineer. [SDR][ENGINEERING]

49. Shoring for Excavations – No tiebacks shall extend into the public right of way
or onto adjacent properties without the written agreement of the City and/or
private property owner. Any tie-backs within the City’s right of way shall be de-
tensioned or removed prior to permit sign-off and/or project acceptance. A Hold
Harmless Agreement approved by City Council is required for any shoring
components (i.e. soldier piles, lagging, de-tensioned tiebacks) permanently
installed in the public right of way. [COA] [ENGINEERING]

Fire and Safety
50. Police Radios – Antennas or repeaters shall be installed as necessary
throughout the building, including all underground parking levels, to ensure there
are no “dead zones” with regard to police hand-held radios.
