Sequential Floor Numbering – All building floors and residential units shall be <br />sequentially numbered (e.g. First Floor units 100, 101, 102, etc.; Second Floor <br />units 200, 201, 202, etc.). [COA][POLICE] <br />52. Building Floor Maps – A floor map of the building and units shall be posted at <br />the building entrances as directed by Police and Fire. [COA][POLICE] <br />53. Building Entry Keypads - Keypads allowing 24-hour access for public safety <br />emergency access shall be installed at the residential and garage entrances. <br />[COA][POLICE] <br />54. Key Boxes – Key boxes of sufficient size shall be installed at all entrances to the <br />building. These key boxes shall contain sufficient numbers of keys to allow <br />access to all parts of the building as well as the fire protection equipment and <br />systems. Literature from the manufacturer of these products and ordering <br />information can be obtained from the Fire Department by calling (650) 780-7400 <br />or at www.knoxbox.com. [COA]{FIRE] <br />55. High-Rise Construction – The building meets the definition of a High-Rise and <br />Section 403 of the California Building Code is applicable. [SDR][FIRE] <br />56. Electronic Security Gates – Electronic security gates shall be provided with key <br />switches to provide fire department access.[COA][FIRE] <br />57. Fire Alarm System – A manual fire alarm system shall be installed in Group R-2 <br />occupancies. Manual fire alarm boxes are not required throughout the building <br />when the building is equipped throughout with an automatic fire sprinkler system <br />and notification appliances activate upon sprinkler flow. At least one manual <br />station shall be installed at an approved location. All initiating and indicating <br />devices shall be electronically supervised. For the purposes of fire alarm <br />annunciation, each floor of the building shall be considered a separate zone. <br />Fire alarm signals shall be transmitted to the central station and retransmitted by <br />zone to the public safety communications center.[COA][FIRE] <br />58. Fire Sprinklers – An approved automatic fire sprinkler system with manual wet <br />standpipes shall be installed meeting the requirements of NFPA Standard 13. <br />Location for fire department connections shall be on the Jefferson Street side of <br />the building. In conjunction with the fire sprinkler system, a Class 1 Fire <br />Department Standpipe System (manual wet) shall be provided within each <br />stairwell. <br />All valves controlling the water supply for automatic fire sprinkler systems, <br />pumps, and water flow switches on all fire sprinkler systems shall be <br />electronically supervised. This includes the detector check valves and back-flow <br />prevention devices. <br />Fire alarm water-flow fire sprinkler signals shall be transmitted to the central <br />station and retransmitted by zone to the public safety communications center. <br />[COA][FIRE]
