Fire Flow – The required fire flow at the minimum residual pressure of 20 psi <br />shall be required (IFC Appendx B). This needed fire flow from a water supply <br />includes both the required fire flow and the demand for the automatic fire <br />sprinkler system. <br />60. Fire Hydrants – The minimum number of fire hydrants and spacing requirements <br />available to the building shall not be less than that listed in International Fire <br />Code Appendix C. <br />61. Elevator Requirements – The following requirements for elevators apply: <br />[SDR][BUILDING][FIRE] <br />a. One elevator shall be available for use as an accessible means of egress <br />in case of emergency. <br />b. All buildings with one or more passenger service elevators shall be <br />provided with not less than one medical emergency service to all landings. <br />The medical emergency service elevator shall accommodate the loading <br />and transport of an ambulance gurney or stretcher (maximum size 24 <br />inches by 84 inches) in the horizontal position. <br />c. One elevator shall be connected to backup generator power in order to <br />remain operable during emergencies. This elevator shall be provided with <br />appropriate signage and shall extend to all floors including the lower levels <br />of the parking structure <br />d. All additional elevators shall be connected to battery backup with sufficient <br />power to bring the elevator to the exit level in the event of an emergency. <br />e. All elevators shall be equipped with smoke curtains. <br />Construction-Related Activities <br />62. Sales and Use Taxes – For commercial projects with a valuation of over $10 <br />million, register with the Board of Equalization to create an ID prior to project <br />construction and operation. Hours of Construction – Construction activity is permitted between 7:00 a.m. <br />and 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except as permitted on weekends by the <br />Building Official, and shall adhere to the City’s Noise Ordinance. If possible, the <br />noisiest construction activities would be scheduled for daytime hours when the <br />ambient noise levels are highest. [SDR][BUILDING] <br />64. Construction Meetings – The applicant is required to contact the Permit <br />Counter (650.780.7350) to schedule the following meetings prior to or during <br />construction. [COA][BUILDING]
