Non-Safety employees shall not accrue sick leave or vacation leave credits during <br /> any period of industrial disability exceeding one ( 1) month . <br /> An employee who is unable to perform his/her job due to a serious health condition <br /> i may also request family and medical leave in accordance with City policy. <br /> g. Bereavement Leave — In the event of a death in the immediate family member <br /> of an employee in the Executive Management Group that employee, upon request, <br /> shall be granted such time off with pay as is necessary to make arrangements for <br /> and/or attend the funeral not to exceed three (3) regularly scheduled working days <br /> or four (4) days in the event the funeral is 300 or more miles from the City. <br /> h. Military Leave - The provisions of the Military and Veterans Code of the State of <br /> California shall govern the granting of military leaves of absence and the rights of <br /> employees returning from such leaves. <br /> i. Parental Leave of Absence Without Pay - Employees shall be granted a leave <br /> of absence without pay to fulfill parenting responsibilities for up to one (1) year <br /> following the child's birth or one ( 1) year following the filing of application for <br /> adoption and actual arrival of child in the home. <br /> The employee on leave shall be returned to his/her original position or if that <br /> position is not in existence, to an equivalent position within his/her classification . <br /> A parental leave, absent physical disability, is granted without pay for the duration <br /> of leave. The employee may elect to continue medical and dental insurance <br /> coverage for up to one ( 1) year during this leave at his/her own expense. <br /> Parental Leave shall run concurrently with leave provisions provided under the <br /> Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the California Family Rights Act (CFRA), <br /> in accordance with State and Federal Law and City policy. <br /> j. Leave for Pregnancy Disability - Employees who are working are entitled to <br /> use personal illness and injury leave for disabilities caused or contributed to by <br /> pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth, and recovery therefrom on the same terms and <br /> conditions governing leaves of absence for other illness or medical disability. Such <br /> leave shall not be used for child care, child rearing, or preparation for childbearing, <br /> but shall be limited to those disabilities as set forth above. <br /> The length of such disability leave, including the date on which the leave shall <br /> commence and the date on which the duties are to be resumed, shall be <br /> determined by the employee and the employee's physician; however, the Human <br /> Resources Director may require a verification of the extent of disability through a <br /> ATTY/RES0.0096/CC RESO FOR EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT SALARY & SUMMURY OF BENEFITS EXHIBIT B <br /> REV: 10-14-16 RL <br /> Page 7 of 18 <br />
