2/27/2017 <br />6. Work with local employers and affordable housing developers to <br />encourage private sector participation in building child care centers for <br />employees, property owners and tenants; work with these groups and City <br />Departments to facilitate processes. <br />7. Participate in and/or lead City and County committees and task forces that <br />support early child care and education, child development and family support. <br />8. Plan, coordinate and implement special events in support of child care and <br />early education program development; prepare promotional materials and press <br />releases for events. <br />9. Receive, review and interpret new legislative initiatives on child care and early <br />education; identify impact on programs and/or new opportunities, provide <br />recommendations to the City on response or action needed; work with <br />legislators on bills related to child care and early education by suggesting <br />bills, engaging support from providers, and testifying at hearings. <br />10. Prepare and update publications for the parent and child care community; <br />maintain website content. <br />11. Perform related duties as required. <br />RELATED AND ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS <br />Knowledae of: <br />Principles and practices of early childhood development and <br />education. <br />Community demographics/needs for child care and early education. <br />Child care and early education resources within the community. <br />Legislative processes and cycles with respect to the introduction or <br />review of legislation on child care or early education matters. <br />Principles and practices of research. <br />Principles and practices of public speaking. <br />Methods and techniques of evaluating child care and early education <br />needs and resources within the community. <br />Principles and practices of grant funding. <br />Local, state and federal sources of funding for child care and early <br />education services. <br />New or planned business and housing development projects within the City. <br />ATTY/RESO.0016/CC RESO AMENDING CLASSIFICATION & SALARY PLAN FOR SEIU RESO.
