01/08/2018 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15639 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY APPROVING A TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AND SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL <br />UNION LOCAL 521 TO AMEND THE MEMORANDUM OF <br />UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE PARTIES AND AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING INTEGRATING THE <br />TENTATIVE AGREEMENT LANGUAGE <br />WHEREAS, the City and Service Employees International Union Local 521 (SEIU) <br />met and conferred on changes to the City's classification and salary plan to establish the <br />new classifications of Water Resources Technician, Lead Water Resources Technician, <br />and Water Quality Specialist and remove the classifications of Customer Support <br />Services Specialist, Recycled Water Specialist, and Water Conservation Specialist; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to incorporate the terms and conditions of employment and <br />compensation for newly established positions, the Memorandum of Understanding <br />between the City and SEIU must be amended; and <br />WHEREAS, the City and SEIU have reached tentative agreement on the <br />amendments to the Memorandum of Understanding, as described in Exhibit A. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The tentative agreement on the amendments to the Memorandum of <br />Understanding Between the City and Service Employees International Union Local 521, <br />as described in Exhibit A, is approved. <br />2. The City Manager is authorized to execute a First Amendment to the <br />Memorandum of Understanding Between the City and Service Employees International <br />Union Local 521 for the period of February 1, 2017 — January 31, 2019, which is attached <br />as Exhibit B. <br />3.
