Exhibit A-1 <br />Proposed Classification <br />ASSISTANT PARKS, RECREATION AND <br />COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR <br />DEFINITION <br />10/22/2018 <br />• Plans, directs, and evaluates programs and services of the Parks, Recreation and <br />Community Services Department with an emphasis on park and landscape <br />maintenance, capital improvement projects, and special event administration; <br />• Oversees preparation and implementation of the Department's operating budget <br />and applicable Capital Improvement budget; <br />• Plans and administers community events; <br />• Coordinates assigned activities with other departments, and outside agencies; <br />• Provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Director; <br />and <br />• Serves as Acting Director in Director's absence. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br />Administrative direction is provided by the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services <br />Director. <br />Responsibilities include direct and indirect supervision of management, professional, and <br />administrative support staff, as well as skilled mechanical and maintenance workers and <br />temporary/seasonal workers. <br />EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES <br />1. Direct operations related to park and landscape maintenance. <br />2. Assists with the development and administration of the department operating and <br />capital improvement budgets; monitors revenues; monitors and approves <br />expenditures in accordance with City policies and/or grant requirements. <br />3. Prepares, writes and administers various grant applications to support capital <br />projects and other department initiatives, manages finances for grant and <br />partnership programs. <br />4.
