Plans, directs, coordinates, and/or reviews the work plan for management, <br />supervisory, professional, and support staff; assigns work activities, projects, and <br />programs; reviews and evaluates work products, methods and procedures. <br />6. Manages large and complex projects including the annual department capital <br />improvement program by coordinating work with other City departments as well as <br />other organizations and agencies. <br />7. Receives and reviews bids from contractors; awards and negotiates contracts <br />within policy guidelines; and monitors contractor performance. <br />8. Serves on Interdepartmental committees and working groups related to downtown <br />events, construction and maintenance. <br />9. Serves as staff liaison on a variety of boards, commissions, and committees; <br />prepares and presents staff reports and other necessary correspondence. <br />10. Provides complex administrative and professional assistance to the Director. <br />11. Represents the department and/or the City to the public, to other agencies, and to <br />regional committees, including conducting public meetings, making presentations, <br />and responding to requests for information. <br />12. Oversees the Special Events Division managing the Special Events Coordinator and <br />support staff. <br />13. Acts as liaison to any sponsors, funders, business partners, foundation partners, non- <br />profit partners, or anyone or any entity who might have business, a partnership, or <br />some other relationship with the City. <br />14. Develops and manages budget for Special Events Division including the <br />comprehensive revenue matrix to support City special events. <br />15. Works with management personnel, interpreting policies of the City Council and City <br />Manager, establishing department priorities, monitoring performance of assigned <br />divisions. <br />16. Prepares reports for the City Manager and City Council on park construction and <br />maintenance activities, special events, and other departmental programs. <br />17. Ensures compliance with safety and environmental standards and regulations <br />related to park maintenance, construction, and public events. <br />18.
