EXI-~IT A <br /> February, 1996 <br /> <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> TRAINING/EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY <br /> COORDINATOR <br /> <br />DEFINITION <br /> <br />To plan, administer and coordinate a City-wide training and employee development <br />program; to plan, administer and provide effective City-wide leadership in the <br />advancement of the goals and practices of equal employment opportunity, affirmative <br />action and valuing diversity; to learn and perform Analyst-level support work for assigned <br />City departments; and to perform related work as assigned. <br /> <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS <br /> <br />This is a paraprofessional, single-position human resources class which has responsibility <br />for two City-wide programs: the development, coordination and dissemination of <br />information regarding employee education and training opportunities; and a <br />comprehensive program of equal employment opportunity, affirmative action and diversity <br />valuation. Successful performance of the work requires analytical skills, the ability to <br />work independently as well as the ability to problem solve and deal successfully with a <br />wide variety of people. This class is distinguished fi.om the Human Resources Technician <br />and Human Resources Analyst classes in that the responsibilities are normally specifically <br />related to the training and equal employment opportunity functions rather than to <br />generalist human resources administration and support. <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br /> <br />Direction is provided by the Director of Human Resources. Project or day-to-day <br />direction of technical or office support staff may be required. <br /> <br />EXAMPLE,q OF ESSENTIAL AND IMPORTANT DUTIES <br /> <br />1. Participates in and provides staff assistance to the Training and Education <br /> Committee and the City-wide Diversity Committee; suggests and evaluates <br /> committee suggestions for meeting cornmi~ee and City goals and objectives in <br /> each area of responsibility. <br /> <br /> <br />
