<br />EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />I. Purpose of Partnership <br /> <br />YFES and RWC2020 collaborate to bring meaningful responsive services to the <br />Redwood City Elementary School District students and families and Sequoia <br />High School students. By working together YFES and RWC2020 are able to <br />serve a large number of residents by locating services on school campuses <br />and/or within their homes. <br /> <br />II. Program Description for funds <br /> <br />Kennedy Youth Development Program: Through a grant from the Westly <br />Foundation and John W. Gardner Center (JGC), YFES provides youth <br />development and leadership activities at Kennedy School. These activities <br />include: student council, peer mediation and education, after school leadership <br />programs, service learning projects and other youth development activities for <br />middle school-aged youth at Kennedy. In addition, with support from Redwood <br />City 2020 and John W. Gardner Center, YFES will integrate JGC's signature <br />YELL (Youth Engaged in Leadership and Learning) into the youth development <br />efforts. The program operates within RWC2020 Kennedy Community School. <br />RWC2020 will provide coordinated family support, after school and academic <br />supports through the Community School. The Youth Development program will <br />be integrated and coordinated with these other services through the YFES and <br />RWC2020 staff. Positions employed: 1 FTE Youth Development Coordinator. <br /> <br />III. Program Outcomes <br /> <br />At minimum, the Youth Development effort will be evaluated on the following <br />outcomes: <br /> <br />Increase in number of youth development opportunities at each <br />school site <br />Increase in number of students involved in during school and after <br />school activities <br />Increase in students' sense of self efficacy <br />Improved student behavior in classroom and on school campus <br />Improved school wide performance on social assets (i.e., conflict <br />resolution, working with diverse populations) <br />Decrease in discipline referrals for students served <br /> <br />Agreement over $10K 11 <br />City Attorney Approved Version 111803 <br />
