4/3/00 <br />Exhibit "A" <br />AMENDED RELOCATION ORDINANCE NO. # 2048 <br />IMPLE MENTING GUIDELINES <br />Pursuant to the Relocation Ordinance adopted by the City of Redwood City relating to <br />certain residential relocation benefits for displacement caused by non - residential <br />development and code enforcement, the following process shall be used as <br />implementing guidelines. <br />Relocation Ordinance # 2048 shall be implemented by the Planning and <br />Redevelopment Manager or his /her designee. <br />DEFINITIONS <br />Actual Moving Expense Payment - Moving expenses based on the actual <br />cost of a professional moving company to relocate furnishings and personal belongings <br />of a displaced household to the replacement housing unit. <br />Base Monthly Rental - The base monthly rental shall be the lesser of the average <br />monthly rental paid by the displaced person for the 3 month period prior to initiation of <br />negotiations (for this policy, 3 months prior to the effective date of the abatement action <br />or Compliance Order) and 25% of the displaced person's average monthly income. <br />Comparable Replacement Dwelling - Defined as a decent, safe and sanitary dwelling <br />unit of sufficient size and bedrooms to accommodate the household size, equivalent to <br />displacement dwelling in terms of capable of providing the same utility and contributes <br />to comparable style of living. Is in an area not subject to unreasonable environmental <br />conditions from either national or human sources and on a site with size typical of <br />residential development, currently available to the displaced person. <br />Decent. Safe and Sanitary - Means a dwelling which is structurally sound, weather <br />tight, contains safe electrical wiring adequate for lighting and other devices, contains a <br />safe heating system capable of sustaining a healthful temperature for displaced person, <br />adequate in size with number of bedrooms required for household, contains separate <br />kitchen walls, ventilated bathroom providing privacy , a sink, shower stall, or bathtub, <br />and a toilet, all in good working order and properly connected to appropriate services of <br />water and sewage drainage system and adequate space for utility services connections <br />v4c0unci1/a9m[ <br />A .t -392 <br />F %5 /fe <br />of /a9 /00 <br />1 13861 <br />
