11/24/2003 <br />SECTION 3. That the number of votes given at each precinct and the <br />number of votes given in the City to each of the persons above named for the <br />respective offices for which the persons were candidates and for and against the <br />measures were as listed in the attached Exhibit "A." <br />SECTION 4. The City Council does declare and determine that the <br />following candidates were elected for the full term of four years by the following <br />vote: <br />Ira Ruskin <br />5,326 <br />Barbara Pierce <br />5,265 <br />Rosanne Foust <br />5,110 <br />Ian Bain <br />4,427 <br />That as a result of the election, a majority of the voters voting on the <br />measures relating to the Uniform Transient Occupancy Tax (Measure "F ") and <br />Charter Amendments (Measure "G "), did vote in favor of them, and that the <br />measures were carried, and shall be deemed adopted and ratified. <br />Measure "F" Yes — 4,678 No — 2,515 <br />Measure "G" Yes — 5,249 No — 1,822 <br />SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council <br />of the City, a statement of the result of the election, showing: (1) the whole <br />number of ballots cast in the City; (2) the names of the persons voted for; (3) the <br />measures voted upon; (4) for what office each person was voted for; (5) the <br />number of votes given at each precinct to each person, and for and against each <br />measure; (6) the total number of votes given to each person, and for and against <br />each measure. <br />SECTION 6. The City Council of the City of Redwood City submitted to <br />the qualified voters of the City at the Election, Measure "F," related to the Uniform <br />Transient Occupancy Tax, to amend the Municipal Code described in Section 4 <br />hereof, with an ordinance. The City Council incorporates by reference Exhibit <br />"B," attached hereto, which is the full text of an ordinance of the City Council of <br />the City of Redwood City amending Section 32.75 of the Municipal Code of the <br />City of Redwood City, providing for an increase in the transient occupancy tax to <br />ten percent (10 %). The Measure passed by a majority of voters voting in favor <br />thereof. <br />SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall immediately make and deliver to each <br />of the persons so elected a Certificate of Election signed by the City Clerk and <br />authenticated; that the City Clerk shall also administer to each person elected the <br />Oath of Office prescribed in the Constitution of the State of California and shall <br />have them subscribe to it and file it in the office of the City Clerk.
