12/05/2005 <br />ORIGINAL <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14677 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, RECITING THE FACTS OF THE CONSOLIDATED <br />SPECIAL AND GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON <br />NOVEMBER 8, 2005 DECLARING THE RESULTS AND SUCH <br />OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW <br />WHEREAS, a Consolidated Special and General Municipal Election was <br />held and conducted in the City of Redwood City, California, on Tuesday, <br />November 8, 2005; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 14676, adopted November 28, <br />2005, the City Council declared the results of the Consolidated Special and <br />General Election subject to any substantial or significant factual or numerical <br />deviation adversely affecting the election results; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 14654, adopted June 27, 2005, <br />the County Election Department canvassed the returns of the election and has <br />certified results to this City Council, the results are received, attached and made <br />a part hereof as Exhibit "A "; and <br />WHEREAS, nothing has come to the attention of the City of Redwood City <br />that any substantial or significant factual or numerical deviation adversely <br />affecting the election result has occurred. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. That the whole number of ballots cast in the City was <br />SECTION 2. That the names of persons voted for at the general election <br />for Member of the City Council are as follows: Diane Howard, Jim Hartnett, Jeff <br />Ira, Adrian Brandt, and Hilary S. Paulson. That the name of the person voted for <br />at the special election for Member of the City Council was Alicia C. Aguirre. That <br />the measures voted upon at the election are as follows: Measure "U' — Shall <br />specified sections of the City Charter be amended to allow appropriations or <br />expenditures of public money to be approved by resolution; permit the City <br />Council to establish by motion a date for the City Manager to submit a proposed <br />budget; and permit the City Council to adopt its budget and cancel any approved <br />appropriation by resolution ?; and Measure "M" — Shall specified sections of the <br />Atty /Reso.1576 14677 <br />112905 1 Muff # 307 <br />
