12/05/2005 City Charter be amended to permit the Library Board to furnish its proposed budget to the City Manager by the same date as required of other city departments; allow Planning Commissioners and Port Commissioners to continue to hold office until their successors are appointed and qualified; and to permit the Board of Equalization to meet on any regular City Council meeting date in July of each year ?; Measure "N" — Shall a specified section of the City Charter be amended to allow a change in the various threshold amounts for the purchase of materials or supplies to determine when contracts (1) may be awarded without solicitation or advertisement; (2) may be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder after solicitation but without advertisement or public bidding; and (3) may be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder after public bidding? SECTION 3. That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given in the City to each of the persons above named for the respective offices for which the persons were candidates and for and against the measures were as listed in the attached Exhibit "A." SECTION 4. The City Council does declare and determine that the following candidates were elected for the full term of four years by the following vote: Diane Howard 10,100 Jeff Ira 9,293 Jim Hartnett 8,712 SECTION 5. The City Council does declare and determine that the following candidate was elected for a two -year term by the following vote: Alicia C. Aguirre 12,227 SECTION 6. That, as a result of the election, a majority of the voters voting on the Measures relating to the Charter Amendments (Measures "L," "M," and "N ") did vote in favor of them and that the measures were carried and shall be deemed adopted and ratified. Measure "L" Yes: 8,898 No: 6,358 Measure "M" Yes: 11,095 No: 4,328 Measure "N" Yes. 8,066 No: 7,209 SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of the City, a statement of the results of the election, showing: (1) the whole number of ballots cast in the City; (2) the names of the persons voted for; (3) the Measures voted upon; (4) for what office each person was voted for; (5) the number of votes given at each precinct to each person, and for and against each Measure; (6) the total number of votes given to each person, and for and against each Measure.
