12/05/2005 <br />City Charter be amended to permit the Library Board to furnish its proposed <br />budget to the City Manager by the same date as required of other city <br />departments; allow Planning Commissioners and Port Commissioners to <br />continue to hold office until their successors are appointed and qualified; and to <br />permit the Board of Equalization to meet on any regular City Council meeting <br />date in July of each year ?; Measure "N" — Shall a specified section of the City <br />Charter be amended to allow a change in the various threshold amounts for the <br />purchase of materials or supplies to determine when contracts (1) may be <br />awarded without solicitation or advertisement; (2) may be awarded to the lowest <br />responsible bidder after solicitation but without advertisement or public bidding; <br />and (3) may be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder after public bidding? <br />SECTION 3. That the number of votes given at each precinct and the <br />number of votes given in the City to each of the persons above named for the <br />respective offices for which the persons were candidates and for and against the <br />measures were as listed in the attached Exhibit "A." <br />SECTION 4. The City Council does declare and determine that the <br />following candidates were elected for the full term of four years by the following <br />vote: <br />Diane Howard 10,100 <br />Jeff Ira 9,293 <br />Jim Hartnett 8,712 <br />SECTION 5. The City Council does declare and determine that the <br />following candidate was elected for a two -year term by the following vote: <br />Alicia C. Aguirre 12,227 <br />SECTION 6. That, as a result of the election, a majority of the voters <br />voting on the Measures relating to the Charter Amendments (Measures "L," "M," <br />and "N ") did vote in favor of them and that the measures were carried and shall <br />be deemed adopted and ratified. <br />Measure "L" <br />Yes: <br />8,898 <br />No: <br />6,358 <br />Measure "M" <br />Yes: <br />11,095 <br />No: <br />4,328 <br />Measure "N" <br />Yes. <br />8,066 <br />No: <br />7,209 <br />SECTION 7.
